- Granada is part of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia (which consists of much of the south of Spain, from Huelva to Almeria), and is located in the province of Granada.
- The city is located 738 m above sea level
- Two rivers flow through Granada: the Darro and the Genil
- A population of around 250.000, of whom approximately 3.3 % don’t hold spanish citizenship
- The University of Granada has the highest european mobility performance, with almost 10% of all students coming from foreign countries- every year, the University has more than 3750 incoming and outgoing students from abroad.
- The Alhambra is the most famous landmark and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. It is the most famous building of Islamic origin in Andalusia. The old Arabic quarter of the city, the Albaicín, is also a World Heritage Site.
- Waterfalls in Monachil and hot springs in Santa Fe offer natural beauty near to the city.
- 30 minutes to the beach: the Costa Tropical (tropical coast) with its amazing climate and tropical fruits, as well as , importantly, beautiful beaches.
